In a follow up the Sentinel states: Giant construction equipment has come to an abrupt halt at the junction of Florida 470 and Florida 475 near Lake Panasoffkee across from Mrs. Kinard’s house with workers standing idle wondering what they should do next.

A final Sentinel story reads: Sumter County’s 1-75 widow yesterday packed up her bags, bid adieu to her home of 13 years and trudged with her four disappointed children to temporary but cramped quarters not far away.

We at the CARES Center are very proud to keep the legacy of Mrs. Kinard’s pioneer spirit preserved and pledge to keep the old homestead forever intact.
